    Home Theater Discussions at SMWTMS
    • At SMWTMS, there has been a discussion of optical low pass filters in Home Theater Projectors. SMWTMS called the feature, "Pixel Blend". A proper optical low pass filter eliminates seeing individual pixels on the screen, even very close to the screen, and eliminate the 'screen door effect', while retaining full resolution of the projector. As of the date of the discussion there few Home Theater Projectors known to have the proper filter. Advertising and even projector reviews said nothing about this desirable filtering. Then it was found the Panasonic PT-AE8000U claims this feature as "Smooth Screen Technology" and states it is achieved by double refraction. The PT-AE8000U also has a feature that utilizes the zoom lens to make the picture wider for 2.35 aspect ratio movies.
